Terri McCoy is a dedicated Fire & Life Safety Educator with the Goodyear Fire Department, driven by a personal mission to help save lives through education & prevention. With over a decade of experience teaching swimming lessons, Terri is a fierce advocate for swimming as a child’s first and most essential sport. As an Arizona native, she grew up watching local news reports that repeatedly highlighted devastating drowning statistics across the Valley - stories that left a lasting impact and ultimately shaped her career.
Today, Terri is committed to a collaborative goal to reduce child and adult drownings to zero. She reaches thousands of Goodyear residents each year through water safety education messages, empowering families with the knowledge to never swim alone, recognize & reduce risks, and always have a safety plan in place. Her passion extends beyond the classroom with one of her favorite hobbies: stand-up paddle boarding. Terri leads by example and always wears her life jacket while out on the water. For her, water safety isn’t just a job, it’s a passion and a promise to the community she serves.
