Advisory Council - Michele Long
Mesa Fire and Medical Department
Past Vice President of the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Arizona, Michele is passionate about educating parents and caregivers on drowning prevention. She believes our biggest challenge in drowning prevention is educating families that this can indeed happen to them. No one is immune to a drowning at any age. Once someone recognizes the threat, supervision increases and layers of protection become a part of daily life.

Michele has spent the last 15 years working with the Mesa Fire and Medical Department.  Currently, she is the Division Director of Fire and Life Safety Education.  She serves on numerous committees and state/national advisory boards, including the National Drowning Prevention Alliance.

Michele holds a B.S. in Public Relations/Marketing from Northern Arizona University. Her background with corporate and national accounts has been successfully adapted into developing numerous volunteer, educational and marketing programs that have received national recognition for the Mesa Fire and Medical Department.
